A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a commercially-minded man manager to assume responsibility for our client’s London distribution depot.
The Role:
The appointed General Manager will assume the following responsibilities:
• Developing and growing business across the region
• Provision of high quality, commercial and training support
• Effective leadership, management and coaching of the sales team (2 external + 4 internal)
• Ensuring continuing development of an already impressive customer base
• Actively targeting new business opportunities
• Managing own portfolio of key accounts, delivering visible and measurable increase in volume, sales and margin
• Building strong and sustainable client relationships
• Managing and improve operations throughout all departments of the depot (25 personnel)
• Ensuring all quality and health & safety standard are met and exceeded
• Full P&L responsibility of £40million
• Strategic management of 42 employees across all departments (sales, operations, H&S, quality, warehouse, admin, shop floor)
The Requirements:
Applicants will be required to demonstrate:
• A proven track record in business development and a good level of technical/operational expertise
• Strong degree of commercial acumen and commitment to delivering high level of customer service
• Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills
• A minimum of 5 years’ leadership experience within a similar role
• Proven sales and leadership skills
• Experience of P&L responsibility (essential)
• An ability to create and implement a targeted sales plan and drive the business forward
• Previous man management experience covering commercial and operational staff
• Proven record of improving sales, GP margins (EBITDA) and streamlining operational activities within a distribution/manufacturing depot
